Case Study: Broadhinton
This is Architectural and Interior design at its best, resulting in a truly exceptional home – our speciality.
This was a seriously distressed property in the heart of Clapham Old Town, in need of a total makeover and extensions.
Our design maximised every available inch of the house to provide open plan contemporary living areas, maximum storage space and function. The options were tight as it sits within a Conservation Zone, but the house has received high praise for its layout and finish.
Entering the hallway a specially constructed ‘divider’ separates the living room with a wider than average entrance with coat, shoe and hat storage on one side and library shelves on the other. All of the interior walls were removed and replaced with steels set into the ceiling. The staircase was replaced with three pull-out storage racks below for children’s toys, household tools and coats.
The wider than average side extension is roofed in thermally efficient glass with opening vents. The kitchen is totally bespoke to our design.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a bathroom and en-suite shower room with twin basins for the Master Suite.
Throughout, the house is lit with an abundance of natural daylight via various configurations of opening roof lights, resulting in a bright and cheerful interior. Every nook and cranny was worked over and design optimised for practical and efficient living. Utility cupboards line the kitchen / dining room – there is even a dedicated clothes drying cupboard.
